I just talked to my dad and excitement is still pulsing in my temples. For the first time ever we were able to communicate FREE of charge with a web cam to boot! Does life get any better for a 60 year old man who never owned a computer?
It took some time to get all the kinks worked out, but hey, that's a cheap price to pay. I had to create another account on my ipod just so that we can figure out what in the world was going on with his Skype account. So, now I got 3 Skype accounts! HEHEHE! Can you tell I love Skype? Well, today it was really not behaving. I was using my iPod calling his house number (yes, you can get Skype on your iPod, well, I don't know which ones, but any one that has wifi , mine is a touch) to talk him thru the process (though I tested his Skype before shipping his laptop). I am so glad a younger neighbor was able to help us out! The whole time the modem was disconnected on his side! Duh! I asked him a few times if he was on-line and he didn't get it. So, we got it working! He saw his grandkids for the first time since 2005 when they all were little squirts! He really wanted to see Mihai who was BMXing somewhere with his cousins in the boonies of the KY fields. I could feel he was a bit disapointed that his grandson wasn't there.
So, anyway, since I haven't blogged in a while I had to get this off my chest for the cyberspace posterity. Ouch, I had to take those horrible earbuds so I can continue typing. I hate earbuds!
On the moving note. The girls and I are flying to California in a week, while hubby flies in from CA to pick our oldest and his truck (with maybe our furniture and my car, how is he gonna do that, please, don't ask me?!) and drive to CA. We got great priced tickets for the only day we really wanted to celebrate with the few family members here in KY-4th of July. No, they don't have a huge fireworks display. It's very country but I love Independence DAY! I really am so grateful for everyone who fought for MY freedom! So, packing I should be, instead I am skyping, FBing, playing chess and scrabble with 4 kids (who are beating me mercilessly and they wonder why I don't want to play them much?). Can you all please, pray for me? I've got to get work done! So, I am off to do it! Bless y'all!
