One particularly stocky kid of ours decided to surprise us with a fever last nite. Now, none of our children have been sick much, especially in the past couple of years when everybody around us was going through the flu (they didn't even get it from mer 2 years ago) or stomach bug. I just praise Jesus since I had nothing to do with their hardiness, well, maybe I was hard enough to go through the horrible, time-consuming procedure of making them take their CLO's daily, attempting to make them like kefir, kombucha or sauerkraut to save on ordering probiotics. But I give no high credit to the result of any of my attempts.
So, to get back to my topic. In a matter of a couple of hours a happy (actually, she was kind of grumpy the second part of yesterday), healthy child was shivering from chills and crying from a horrible headache. I sent her to bed fully expecting a 12 yo to take care of her teeth and PJs. A couple of minutes later I found her in her bed, shivering, with her entire attire on( she just got back in from an outing to the gym with her cousins). Needless to say, I didn't practice Love, compassion, patience and kindness. I was humbled minutes later when leaving her bedside to hear a weak "Thanks so much, mom for making me comfy and loving me today when i was a brat".
So, my boyfriend (today is Valentines and I can call my husband that shamelessly) took the rest of the healthy kids to our fellowship, leaving the 2 of his special gals at home. He so sweetly offered for me to go. But I am so happy to be able to cater and spoil my oldest princess girl. My thoughts and plans on working out at a certain time where shattered because she fell asleep on the couch and I have to desire to disturb her sleep. Both of our desires to see our out of town friends visiting for just this weekend vanished too. Ministering to her about peace, contentment and trust that "God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (Rom 8:28)" has been refreshing. Watching her sweet face twitching in the mystery of a dream and reminiscing about her when she was little has been so sweet. I haven't spent time with just her in a while. I pray I hear when and how to do it more often. Our oldest child, our son, will be turning 14 in 5 days and I planned on writing him last year just like my very sweet blogger friend did for her oldest son. She inspired me to go back, re-read and finish that letter. I fully intended to work on my oldest letter today, but God had other plans. As I nourish the physical needs of my oldest daughter, feed her homemade chicken stock soups or applying garlic poultice to the soles of her feet I continue to be humbled by God's plans, which override ours. May we treat everyday special. Loving each other and holding each other as more important than ourselves for it is pleasing to the Lord.
Matthew 20:26-28
Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
PS I finally edited this picture from her Birthday party last year and she loved the frame and the stamp Sassy on it, though I warned her not be one with me, LOL!. I followed the directions to the tutorial on one of my favorite digi scrapbooking websites. I love Jessica! I had so much fun following the tutorials and learning about masks, textures, downloading new free fonts, etc! Totally awesome! Many free tutorials. I think this one is free as well. I only bought one class couple of years ago and am learning from her free tutorials a LOT! If you want to learn free digi scrapbooking this is the place to start! I plan on making this cure project today before my hubs and kids get home (that is if my printer cooperates). I have pears, apples and one rotting banana! So, I am short on another one, though a decent banana would be a lot better! So, Sassy is not my favorite word for a girl that implies Godly qualities, but it was part of the project and I didn't change it. So, as soon as come up with something more appropriate for this princess I'll change it. Till then, enjoy this one :)
